SENATOR GREENLEAF ANNOUNCES SENIOR EXPO 2002
HARRISBURG – The ninth annual Senior Citizens Expo, sponsored by Sen.
Stewart J. Greenleaf, will be held Thursday, May 30, 2002, from 10 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. at the Fort Washington Expo Center.
More than 170 vendors will be participating in the event. The participants will include government agencies offering
services to senior citizens, local businesses, and health care entities.
Entertainment will be provided by Gayle and Vale and Gentlemen of
Harmony. Ronald McDonald will be
helping to greet senior citizens throughout the morning, and the Phillie
Phanatic will be on hand between 11 a.m. and noon.
Health screenings, refreshments, and door prizes will be available, and
admission is free.
Greenleaf said he is expecting 3,000 senior citizens to attend, based on
numbers from previous years. “The
word is out that the Senior Expo provides a lot of fun and fellowship, in
addition to providing useful information about health, housing, finance,
services, and products. This event
has grown in terms of the number of vendors and the number of attendees with
every year it is held,” the senator said.
