The Gardner's son, Ricky, suffers from a rare genetic disorder known as
Pallister-Killian Syndrome (PKS). The Senate adopted Senator
Greenleaf's resolution declaring December 4th, 2011 as Pallister-Killian
Syndrome Awareness Day in Pennsylvania. |

September 27, 2011 - Texas State Representative Jerry Madden, a strong
advocate for prison reform, joined Senator Greenleaf at a news
conference at the State Capital to discuss the need for prison reform in
Pennsylvania. Senator Greenleaf's legislation,
SB 100, would reduce Pennsylvania's prison population by placing
more nonviolent drug offenders into rehabilitation programs. From

September 26, 2011 - Senator Greenleaf visits with
Shireen Amedee, Ambassador of Peace and first lady of Kurdistan, Iraq.
She has been a champion of human rights in Iraq. As a member of the
International Lions Club, Shireen has actively worked for women's rights
and other social causes.

August 18, 2011—Senator Greenleaf hosted his annual Community Night in Luken's Park in Horsham Township. State and local government agencies and non-profit organizations were available to provide information about their services to residents of the 12th District, and the Senator and staff were on hand to meet with constituents. July 25, 2011 - Senator Greenleaf and State Rep. Kate Harper presented a check from the Commonwealth Finance Authority for a $2 million grant for the connection of the North Wales sanitary sewage system with the sewage collection system owed an operated by neighboring Upper Gwynedd Township. Both legislators strongly advocated for the grant. |

February 11, 2011 - Senator Greenleaf presented a Senate
Citation congratulating Keith Valley Middle School students on their
efforts to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through a 36 hour
hockey marathon. Special guest Vince Papale (red shirt), former
Philadelphia Eagle and inspiration for the Disney film "Invincible",
addressed the students and community members on leadership and
overcoming adversity. The kids raised a record $53,762 for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation which grants a wish to critically ill children. |
