Senator Greenleaf to Hold Rally Calling for the PA House to Pass Safe Harbor Bill to Protect Child Victims of Human Trafficking

On Tuesday, June 5th, State Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf (R, 12) will hold a rally and press conference at the State Capitol to call for the passage of SB 554, Safe Harbor legislation to protect the child victims of human trafficking from being prosecuted for crimes they were forced to commit.  The bill has been held by the House of Representatives for over a year after unanimous passage in the Senate.  Advocates and citizens from across Pennsylvania will gather at the Capitol to ask that SB 554 be scheduled for a vote.

Human Trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world.  Over 100,000 children are exploited through prostitution in the United States each year.  Over 273 human trafficking cases were reported in Pennsylvania since 2016.  At least 34 states have already passed a Safe Harbor law.
